Liquid Glass design is DOA. Long live flat design.

I quite like it the concept ands immediately installed the developer beta on my phone. It clearly wasn't considered in many places but I expect that from a beta.

Has anyone tried Windows 11 yet? I'm thinking about joining the beta or whatever they call it.

This is actually very common in Brazil, where everyone uses WhatsApp (a Facebook app). You record your voice message on your end and it appears as a playable audio clip for whoever you sent it to. I'm not a fan, but it is the favorite mode of communication of a lot of people, including my extended family.

It's so common that Twitter is beta testing voice tweets in Brazil: theverge.com/2020/...

I have an old account on there and I never saw it really active. Another good "alternative" social site (but centralized and proprietary) is Okuna, it's in a private beta right now but it's nice and glossy like Facebook without the user predation+deception. Sort of like Reddit but without the near-psychotic userbase.

People who don't really play games anymore: What games do you find yourself going back to every once in a while? Personally, I still catch myself playing Morrowind and DOOM (1993).
đģ Kenneth Jensen
I got back in. '93 Doom and Morrowind are top shelf for me. Oblivion is good too. Half-Life 1 and 2, the classics. I just got into Blood (use BloodGDX!) and reinstalled RCT3 for the first time in years. Fallout 1, 2, 3, and New Vegas. Halo 1 and 3 are always so fun (check out Cursed Halo). GTA San Andreas. I miss Minecraft Classic and Alpha/Beta. Nethack will never not be my pitfall. Dwarf Fortress is really really fun (I need to push my limits more in this game!).

Couldn't agree more on this. Not having to scroll endlessly like other counterparts and a chaos-free environment (not sure if that's going to be the case with influx of users in the future) is what brings me back to this site.
đŖ Fish
i noticed a lot of people mention "the future" of this site. I see this more as being a beta tester for something that may never have "a future" like many expect so many social medias. I think its pretty enjoying already. Although more people can sometimes be nice i suppose

What browser is everyone using these days? Anyone on Microsoft Edge?

I was eyeing to buy a new Mac (perhaps a MBP), since my mid-2011 iMac can't upgrade beyond High Sierra. I will now wait until year's end and get me an Apple Silicon bases one. I have also downloaded iOS 14 developer preview, but I don't think I will proceed with the install. I have beta tested all versions of iOS this far, though, so the temptation is real. :-)

Firefox 70 beta finally works properly on macOS. It's my default browser from now on. It was my go to browser for web development.

Why did you delete it? Focusing more on web? Don't want to deal with walled gardens anymore?
đ Lucian Marin
I wanted to replace it with Subcafe app. It was kinda foolish of me. But I understand that latest iOS 11 beta supports manifest files when you add web apps to home screen -- maybe that will do it instead.

Has anyone tried the new Firefox? It's friggin' amazing. Like, I'll switch to it tmrw from Vivaldi good. Obviously, it's still in beta so some things need fixing but I'm liking it a lot.

Not yet, I'm holding out for the stable release for the moment. But maybe I'll install it on my work computer to see what all the fuss is about.

I tried it on my Windows 7 machine at work and it feels like it was designed for a completely different operating system. It's not bad but it feels like they just copied Edge's interface.

Firefox Quantum [?]. I've been using the nightly builds for some time, it's renewed so much hope I had for Firefox beating the "but Chrome is faster" myth - it only feels faster. Mozilla overhauled the UI to be just as slick. I can't wait to see Firefox in 2018 now they're working on "HolyJit" which is a new JS engine, which, just like Stylo, is written in Rust! Safer and faster than Chrome in the long run, that's my bet.

I like the new interface design (design.firefox.com...) a lot more than the performance improvements. I will wait the day when they drop XUL completely and the interface will be built in HTML.

The hardware is nice, but the software is not there yet. iOS 12 will make iPhone X usable, until then is more of an experiment. A smaller version will also be more useful for me. Space Gray on the back isn't as nice as Jet Black.
đŊ Paul Webb
What about iOS 11 makes it feel unusable to you? I've been using the beta for a couple months so I'm unable to think of any issues (it feels normal to me).

I broke LinkedIn new web app. I played with it until it shows all kinds of errors: consolidation API response is null/empty. I managed to create a company page (linkedin.com/compa...) for Sublevel, after all.
