I quite like it the concept ands immediately installed the developer beta on my phone. It clearly wasn't considered in many places but I expect that from a beta.

They toned down liquid glass effect in iOS 26 beta 3. Apple should remove it entirely.

đī¸ After they made it a little bit better with iOS 18 I have tried to use Apple's calendar app again for a week or so, but I still can't move away from Fantastical.

If they allow alternative browsers then I might buy an iPad Mini after all.

After "the plugin" reveal it is pretty clear OpenAI's vision is to be a monopoly (or duopoly like IOS) where every business on earth will have to create a "plugin" to have functionality with their website/system. This plugin will likely cost the business money to list. So they are expecting us to replace a decentralized internet with a centralized one controlled by a single entity. Imo this won't work. One large company with leverage can simply say they won't make a plugin for "x LLM" instead we only support "y LLM" and then OpenAI will have the fun lesson of learning that betting it all on a monopoly is a stupid strategy.

I appreciate the offer. I'm not sure I really have any specific questions at this time. I first thought about them years ago, and it's just been an on-and-off curiousity since then. There is a local float center, so I supose I just need to try it at least once. I like the idea of medition, and I thought it could be used for relaxation, though I'm not sure at this point. I used to sauna for a while when I had the opportunity, and that was pretty relaxing. I guess I have a question: do you think it could be used for relaxing (any for the body besides just the mind)?
Derek Sivers
Probably different for everyone. I'm a very relaxed guy, so when friends tell me that accupuncture or massage or hot stones or various other things work for them, I always try it out of curiosity, for the life experience. But really nothing has been super-relaxing to me... EXCEPT: going back and forth between super-hot and super-cold pools a few times - each one staying in as long as I can stand it. Now THAT melts me. Everything else has been just "eh". sive.rs/sauna

You can use it as an app if you add it to home screen from Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android.

I changed the way unfeeder.com fetches articles. It's faster, new articles every couples of minutes. It doesn't depend on the Facebook API any longer. I can provide a JSON API for iOS and Android developers.

No one makes anything user-friendly anymore. Not iOS, not Android, not even cars or microwaves. WTF is going on?

I think I'm done with smartphones. Were I able to script stuff on them they'd be useful but I don't need an ad dongle stuck in my pocker. Soon to be back to Nokia 105. Hopefully.

#TOTD I like the idea of exoskeletons for rehabilitation (e.g. make paraplegic people walk again) but I dislike human enhancement stuff. Why use an exoskeleton to lift 1000 lbs? Just use a remote controlled robot, or a fork lift! Want to run at 60 mph? Use a car! Just imagine if something goes wrong with the control system or the freaking battery connector fails while the user is lifting 1000 lbs above their head.

That's a very grounded argument you have there. Never thought it like that before. And it makes much sense once you think about it from a practical point of view. All tech fails at some point. And your scenarios, though focusing on very fringe instances, are entirely within the realm of possibility.
