Burensasub I listen to all kinds of music. Lately though, I have gotten into lofi hip hop and lofi jazz. I also really like music by Boards of Canada (their music is electronic/ambient)
Adsr I'm only beginning to explore Boards of Canada. Love them so far! I really like Dayvan Cowboy and Chromakey Dreamcoat. Would love to hear your recommendations!

☕ David Antoine Observing the future to "collapse its associated wave function" and select a specific outcome to control future events? That could be a nice pitch for a movie or a TV show. Or a book. Maybe it has been done... But indeed, space, time, causality, emergence, quantum behavior, etc, are all part of a big puzzle that physicists are trying to solve while having been starved for the past decades of new/unexpected experimental data. It is a... Complicated field (duh).
😏 Yt L. I thought this is where they were going with Devs (spoilers) - they have a machine that can see the past or future but employees are forbidden from looking at the future. I thought the reason would be that looking at the future determines it, but they didn't really explore that.

☕ David Antoine At least I llike the fact that he says those theories are non testable (probably referring to the M-Theory and its 10e500 combinations w/o predictions). But at what point do you decide it is a dead end? This is an intricate question & one of the main problem of cosmology today. There are 100+ inflation models, Hubble constant discrepancy with Planck observations, dark energy/cosmology constant prediction problem (QM at 10e122 and GR at 10e-9), etc. An interesting mess indeed.
☁ī¸ Will Definitely. Perhaps the fact that they are explored and enumerated as potentially unverifiable until further understanding (wave function collapse, quantum entanglement, etc) permits but at least they are enumerated and considered explored. That way we don't get caught in a loop of _repeating_ dead ends. And perhaps human frame of reference, with our senses and the way we participate in time/space are sufficiently limited that they may not actually be directly resolvable.

Ganesh Khade Javascript or Typescript?
☕ Francesco TypeScript, but without turning on "strict mode" from the start. Explore it and use it as the superset of JavaScript that it is and slowly opt in with its best features as you go.

🤔 David Your hamster is cute. Also, your website is AWESOME! I can't explore all of it right now (tight work schedule) but I'll make sure to get to it after my tasks are done. Super neat
đŸ’ģ Kernel Thanks man! There is not so much to explore right now, as it still a work in progress. Definitely check out the BOOTSTRA.386 theme, there's even a Hugo port.

☕ David Antoine Sure, if we can go the solar route instead of nuclear it's probably preferable just to avoid the nuclear waste problem (unless we find a way to transmute elements... In that regards, specific particle accelerators could be used on the Moon, but that's far fetched). There is also the ocean, big and still untapped source of energy, but it is easier said than done. For example: youtube.com/watch?...
👉 LÊo Thank you for that link, very interesting stuff! I would like to hear more about that moon-based particle accelerator that you mentioned. Is there a reference for that or is it your idea? I'd like to learn more either way. It could give us a good (i.e., profitable) reason to explore space, which is somethingI would like to see for other reasons as well. Also, I meant to write "fusion and fission" but I hit the character limit and had to change to "nuclear" to mean both.

☕ David Antoine Maybe in the West but emerging countries still need to grow and improve their well being in general. So w/o fusion and a mix of renewable, what could help in the short term. Fission could help but preferably with molten salt third gen or rapid neutron fourth gen reactors (the latter are more difficult to build). Both are more secure then the classic pressurized boiling water cores (Canada has the only one plant w/ non pressurized boiling water core in the world).
👉 LÊo Yeah, energy consumption will go up as people worldwide reach (or try to reach) the same level of comfort that AmericansEuropeans enjoy. But we still have _a lot_ of unexplored solar potential. We could power the entire planet using a small fraction of the solar energy available. Even with low-efficiency panels and limited amounts of land, that is still feasible and allows room for growth. Of course, we shouldn't put all the eggs in one basket. Nuclear will be important too!

Joseph Gilmore For me it was a pretty linear decrease in quality across the series. God Emperor and whatever the next one was we're good but it makes them seems worse because the first is so amazing
🟩 Koralatov I can see that side of it too. I think, as says below, Herbert is a better philosopher than writer (I wouldn't say he's "terrible", though). I think a reader's enjoyment of the following books hinges on whether they're interested in the *philosophy* Herbert explores, or the *universe* he built; when it's the latter, they're much weaker books.
