🧿 Andrea What is your best kept secret life hack? Mine: if you're feeling sick (high fever, food poisoning, etc) and don't drink coke regularly, a half litter of frizzy full sugar coke and a pan fried piece of bread (naan works well) will do you miracles

Ganesh Khade Schedule a wifi router to automatically turn off it's wireless network at night, so that kids can go to sleep. Not a parent, but when I configured my uncle's router to do so, he was so damn happy.

Vincent L. In my experience, the interesting thing is to get back in touch with what it feels like to actually be hungry. More often than not, I realize I'm not eating to feed myself but just out of habit or to tame adverse feelings instead. Going for chocolate now. BRB.

🧿 Andrea +1! We use a standup bot at work and the main boost I've found is that it forces me to think about what I need to do and prioritize before jumping right in; I find this works even better when I journal what I'm doing through the day, but I struggle with that a lot - I forget, I jump around to urgent things, etc

☕ David Antoine Well, it seems hiccups have some success, so my trick against it is, as soon as they start, I breathe in deeply and block my respiration there for minimum 15s. I don't know exactly what's the effect on my diaphragm but it systematically stop the hiccups after I exhaled. It never failed. For as long as I remember, meaning for the past 20 or 25 years at least...

🔒 Trevor This very consistently works for me as well. I've had others try it when they're experiencing hiccups and seems to have worked for them. The most difficult part is concentrating on keeping your abdomen tense and getting over the mental block of expecting the hiccup.

Gil glad that works for you. They say a scare helps. Last time I paid a dude part of a mafia gang to threaten me with a knife but the bloody hiccup was still there

🧿 Andrea I've learned to do a weird thing with my throat, a sort of forced burp, and haven't had hiccups for more than ten seconds since! See if you can figure it out
