🤚🏻 Vivek How was it?
😀 Tom It was okay. It was the latest one that was cowritten by the author's son. I noticed a stark difference in the writing right away, but it was still just as readable and enjoyable.

☔ Johannes I liked it a lot, actually. One of my favorite sci-fi series. And yes, I think I heard something about that! The Wandering Earth was made into a movie in 2019, but it seems kind of so-so unfortunately, I hope Remembrance of Earth's Past does better.
😀 Tom Interesting, I read The Three-Body Problem (and the sequels) not too long ago after seeing it mentioned all of thr time. I haven't read any of the author's other works, but if it was made into a movie, it's probably worth checking out the book.

Daniel Holmes I recently heard a Paul Washer sermon the other day, talking about the role of Deacons and Elders, but more specifically Elders. He spoke to the danger of teaching and how if the fear of God isn't upon you when you're speaking then you need to go and repent. Furthermore he said that just as a husband should be willing to lay down his life for his wife and his children, so the responsibility for an elder is. You must lay down your life, because you are not given authority for authority's sake... you're given the authority to serve.

🧑‍🎨 Adam Rajnoha I really like subreply's simplicity, indie-ness even. Found myself pressing "save" on posts i like to let the author know, then I realised how altered my mind has become.

👨‍💻 Matthieu V. some find them too "scratchy", I can get that point, but I never used lubed switches yet and I must say I'm pretty afraid to try, I fear to not be consistent on all my switches...
🧐 Nrmn I read some test where the author preferred them non-lubed. He claimed lubing changes them for the worse

😀 Tom Something inconsequential bothers me: A novelist writing a series of books featuring an American, spells "curb" as "kerb". "Curb" is the U.S. spelling, "kerb" is the British spelling. That spelling seems unnatural to me, I like the way other British words are spelled, but for some reason, not this one. I wonder why the author uses that spelling. I've only noticed it in his recent novels, so I wonder if he's used the American spelling in the past, and if so, why he changed.
🤘 Matthew Maybe the author has a different editor who hasn't reminded them to do a :%s/kerb/curb/g op on their manuscript?

Cole Hudson The attempt to get physicists to use constructor theory has the same energy as the push towards geometric algebra in the gaming industry. There's an analog with functional programming here too, does not imply the same dynamics however
🏒 Lucian Marin A theory to explain other thories, that's the interesting part about it.

Cole Hudson Yes, Starlink is still underrated as a technology on its own terms. But its even more underrated as a Gurridic tool for social change (see amazon.com/dp/B07J...). When internet access is decentralized, authoritarian tools for controlling information (e.g. the great fire wall) no longer work.

🤔 David Much appreciated! I will say that in my area of California--the Central Valley--there has been quite a push to vote No on proposition 23 (dialysis). Funny how the text bears little semblance to the fearmongering by the advertisements (<_<)
