Zero Edge You want crypto to be a thing? Go after businesses like Buttcoin did in the early days before rebranding to a "store if value". Businesses would love to accept a currency that doesn't take 3% of every transaction and isn't susceptible to friendly fraud. Now all you have to do is make deals with pos cc terminal, make a cc, and gain real world adoption. Might be too hard for the moon boys and vaporware salesmen to do considering it involves real work.
Zero Edge Small businesses are tired of the credit card mobopoly where we hand over 2% of our revenue to a system that wont take any steps to protect us from "friendly fraud" which is expected to exceed over $100b this year. fool.com/the-ascen...
Zero Edge After "the plugin" reveal it is pretty clear OpenAI's vision is to be a monopoly (or duopoly like IOS) where every business on earth will have to create a "plugin" to have functionality with their website/system. This plugin will likely cost the business money to list. So they are expecting us to replace a decentralized internet with a centralized one controlled by a single entity. Imo this won't work. One large company with leverage can simply say they won't make a plugin for "x LLM" instead we only support "y LLM" and then OpenAI will have the fun lesson of learning that betting it all on a monopoly is a stupid strategy.

Zero Edge My opinion, as a small business owner.. Pause raising rates for a while and see if the FED has done enough. The interest rate lever isn't perfect. Keep market tepid. NOT COLD.

🦿 Lucian Marin Elon will lose all his wealth on Twitter. He is playing angry birds with his users.
🤓 Simon Hamp Agreed. I can see him sinking all his money into fines and costs. He will become a "what not to do" case study in business schools

💻 Kenneth Jensen The economy (US) is slightly stalled with all of the shipping containers being stuck in port without having been unloaded. Many people are living on government assistance from the pandemic. Texas has more job openings than people on government assistance. The price of building materials is still through the roof. Farmers are still hurting from not as many people going out to eat. Hopefully, our economy will be stronger than it was pre-pandemic.
Zero Edge I think the overall trajectory is up. Our business usually gives us a fair metric of what peoples spending habits are doing and we have seen good growth this year so far. I definitely can see other sectors having differing levels of success. Maybe it will be an "uneven" recovery?

Cole Hudson Why does nearly every business announce via Business Wire? Why not a normal blogpost? It's unclear to me what it's distinguishing attributes are, perhaps a direct feed into newsrooms?
🐓 Mega Might just be easier/get out to more people. I feel like people would actively look for a blog post while Business Wire would come to them (in a way).

Diva I watched the documentary "13th" four days ago and I'm still processing it. Mass incarceration is not good for society and it is not a deterrent; so it really is just a business opportunity for corporations. Dreadful.

🗨️ Fui It's a false dilemma. They're investing in content creation in hopes they'll capture our attention. They're investing upfront, in hopes to recoup that by what advertisers will be paying. It's a gamble. That we're able to consume the content without watching the adverts is just an unlucky side of this kind of business. If I open a bookstore with free coffee in hopes of capturing buyers, and people go there for the coffee and not the books, maybe I have a bad business plan.
🐢 Keb Maybe you do have a bad business plan doing that. But I have a choice as the consumer to say, "hey, maybe it's not nice to come here only for the coffee. I'll buy a book or a pastry every now and then to show my support."

👨‍💻 Matthieu V. For me it's not stealing if you support in an other way, also adtech is toxic for the web..
