I enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. It led me to this set, and specifically this track that I'd never heard but really like (link should jump to 12:50): youtu.be/CMXiCR2gQ...
CSVs and CSV usage is such a mess I don't know where to start. Excel being a big cause of the headache. Anyone have an Excel alternative that doesn't try and mess with CSVs? Something "pure"? (Other than editing text directly...)
I work with CSV a lot. There used to be a time when Libre Office had a pretty good CSV support, including the character encodings which are one of the headaches Excel gives you. However, for quite a while now I've been using a piece of software named Easy Data Transform. That covers all our use cases and helps with semi-automating things. It's paid software though.
I'm making my way through everyone's music suggestions - many thanks to everyone that shared!
anything stick out as "really good"?
I'm experimenting with using more minimalist software. What minimalist web tools do you lovely people like?
not a webtool but recently got into using FOAM for note taking and finding it very useful: github.com/foambub...
I use workflowy.com for everything. Does that count as a web tool? ;-)
I need new music - who can recommend me some?

I've been stunned by this Black Kirin (Chinese folk metal) album since I discovered it: youtube.com/playli...
It's 20 years old, but I still miss Tricky Woo. This is off arguably their best album, Les Sables Magiques: youtu.be/qZrsjnQ2-V8

Why not good old fashioned heavy metal with iron maiden or pop music with abba?
