I always struggle to define myself.
🧉 Martin A few years ago I decided to learn Esperanto (the constructed language). I now spend anywhere from a few hours to a few days per week speaking it with friends from around the world. AMA :) (or just shake your head disapprovingly)
🍃 Matt Harwood You've all inspired me to give Esperanto a go - thank you for this! I'm very excited!

🧉 Martin I enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. It led me to this set, and specifically this track that I'd never heard but really like (link should jump to 12:50): youtu.be/CMXiCR2gQ...

Diva This has been another challenging week, at work, at home and health wise. I am mentally drained. Oh weekend, I love you!
🍃 Matt Harwood I'm with you diva! Completely knackered and needing a break. What are your plans? :)

Miso Do you play any games?
🍃 Matt Harwood I'm a little addicted to Age of Empires 2. I don't normally play games but I can look up and 6 hours have gone by. A bit scary, if I'm honest!

📻 Jeff Wright Ok, here I am with my first post on Subreply. Hello! I'm currently looking at boxes that I've packed in preparation for my impending move
🍃 Matt Harwood Good luck with the move, Jeff. Hope to be down on the south(east) coast some day soon. I miss the air!

Burensasub Peach is a app/social media platform. It was 1st released in 2016 by Dom Hoffman, the creator of the now-popular Byte app. At first, Peach created a lot of hype but it quickly died down. So much so that Dom and his team stopped developing it. Yet, it's still going, with a small, but significant group of dedicated users. Because the app is no longer in active development, it sometimes goes down for a period of time.
🍃 Matt Harwood Fab, thank you very much! It's tempting to check it out :)

Diva Peach was down and my team drew at home; what have I done to make the gods angry?!
🍃 Matt Harwood I keep seeing mention of Peach - what is it? :D

🐢 Xia I work with CSV a lot. There used to be a time when Libre Office had a pretty good CSV support, including the character encodings which are one of the headaches Excel gives you. However, for quite a while now I've been using a piece of software named Easy Data Transform. That covers all our use cases and helps with semi-automating things. It's paid software though.
🍃 Matt Harwood Thank you Xia! I will have a look at Easy Data Transform now. Really appreciate your input :)

🍃 Matt Harwood CSVs and CSV usage is such a mess I don't know where to start. Excel being a big cause of the headache. Anyone have an Excel alternative that doesn't try and mess with CSVs? Something "pure"? (Other than editing text directly...)

🦄 Chip Uni Subreply is not as deeply engaging as Twitter or Facebook. It doesn't have flashing animations, movie stars, or entertainers. Further, most of the people who joined recently (like me!) came from Headline News, where we already have discussions. So, yeah -- engagement will drop. The question is: Can Subreply maintain a good core set of people, and build into its own media?
🍃 Matt Harwood Does it need to build in to _anything_? Cannot it not just be what it is, without needing to be cultured and monetised? Like how things used to be...

⌨️ Joseph What operating systems are people using here? I have to use Windows 10 at work, but at home I've been rocking Fedora.
🍃 Matt Harwood I'm on Win 10, after many years (15+) on Fedora and other *nix OSes. I tried Win 10 for nostalgia (my early teens on Windows) and forgot to uninstall. To be honest, 99% of everything is a browser now... so makes little difference for me!

Jakub Janarek Polish presidential election results - thoughts?
🍃 Matt Harwood Sad result. Duda's comments such as "[being gay] is more destructive than communist indoctrination" mean a further step back for a country where the young want a more liberal, inclusive future.
