Jack Byers I wonder if any free social network can achieve virality while gatekeeping toxic trolls...

Bnaw Honestly I'd rather not have this take off. Basically all platforms/communities degrade massively as soon as they take off.

🚴 Aditya That's a fair point.

😏 Yt L. We need to have it grow enough to reach a sustainable mass, but not so much that it degrades. I'd estimate this is growth greater than one order of magnitude and definitely less than three.

🤬 Foobar You make a good point. Part of the reason I'm enjoying subreply right now is because the community is small and my voice doesn't get drowned out like in Reddit.

Wyclif Excellent point.

❄️ Geoff If it doesn't, should package this up and enable people to start their own topic-focused communities

📉 Bill I would love to fork this off and host a site similar to this

🤬 Foobar I think there's a good chance. But I do think it needs a little bit more work, especially when it comes to navigation. I wish it was open source so I could contribute to it.

🌚 Cosmo If it were open source and federated, I could see it being the next Mastodon.

🗿 Simohamed Yes, me too.

📉 Bill Invite some people then maybe. Do you want it to take off?

Wyclif I'm not sure about that. Someone else here pointed out that "taking off" and blowing up leads to degradation: see Twitter 2020.
