🐊 Andromeda Pie Sign for a new social network promoting itself as trustworthy and the first thing I see is a racial slur lmao

👉 Oscar If you guys are referring to how do you perceive that as racist? I haven't seen a single thing he/she has written here indicating any form of racism.
🌚 Nlggers I think they've put the cart before the horse as it were. They also assumed I'm white which I am not. It's been my observation that an unfortunate number of people are quick to jump to conclusions - few will take the time to thoughtfully consider scenarios that may not reflect the caricature they've created in their mind of the people who hold views they disagree with.
🤬 Foobar This is a pretty moronic explanation. It doesn't matter what your race is, you specifically chose a username that is a word that symbolizes peak racism (at least in the US). It's easy to see that you are trying to hide your troll intentions behind a false narrative, but it really just makes you seem like some edgy twat.
🌚 Nlggers Next time I'll remember to make my username "Dancing Israelis" if that makes you happier.
🤬 Foobar That doesn't address any of the points I said.
🌚 Nlggers You're welcome to believe I have malintent. If you don't think I mean what I say then there is little I can do to convince you otherwise. I'm not particularly motivated by the desire to change your mind.
🗨️ Fui Shouldn't we all try to reach a balance? For instance, when discussing with my wife, I sometimes may be the one who is right, but in order to deal with the situation, I may step down and give her some room to find her better self again. Then, on some other occasion, with a different and better mood, I may bring the issue to the table back again. By acting like this, we both win. But that won't happen if I just act out of self- righteousness.
🤬 Foobar If your actual intentions are to spark thoughtful conversations with everybody about censorship, then your username does otherwise. Whether you believe it or not, it's a word that sparks negative emotions in a lot of people and that is something you cannot change. What's actually is going to happen is that people will feel uncomfortable joining this platform and you won't get voices and ideas from a diverse set of people (something crucial to the idea of freedom of speech).
🧔 Justin Right, I don't think someone who's well socially adjusted does something like this, no matter how much they care about free speach. Why here? It's like shouting in a room full of people who only want to talk amongst themselves just because you can. It makes the experience worse for others for no benefit to anyone.
🌚 Nlggers I'm not sure I'd compare conducting normal conversation under a provocative username to shouting in a room full of people who only want to talk amongst themselves. Many users have said they've found my comments helpful under other threads.
🧔 Justin If this were a room full of people and it was written on your name tag, I think you'd have a hard time finding welcoming ears for those comments
🌚 Nlggers That doesn't seem to be the case. Many people on here simply have normal conversations with me.
📉 Bill I'd agree it was maybe edgy when lots of people were signing up but you've seemed to scare everyone away . It's crazy how internet discussion devolves to race, sex, politics like we're going to solve anything here.
🌚 Nlggers I'm not really interested in those topics.
📉 Bill Me either but everyone brings them up
🌚 Nlggers Fine by me. If someone wishes to say "kike" in my presence I don't become emotional as a result or refrain from holding conversation with them.
🤬 Foobar You don't have the same experiences and backgrounds as everyone in the world and so how you would react in a specific situation is irrelevant. Interesting that your whole presence on this platform is to 'fight' against censorship, yet you openly admit to being fine with preventing the flow of free speech and conversations.
🌚 Nlggers What? I said if someone were to say something provocative in my presence (something specifically offensive towards me) that I would not stop the flow of discussion as a result. That would be the opposite.
🤬 Foobar Again, how you react to a certain situation is completely irrelevant.
😏 Yt L. Are you being repeatedly banned or forced to change your name?
🌚 Nlggers It was changed to nword by the site operator while my first name string was left alone. Then my first name string was also altered as well a few hours later. I just changed it back now with an l in place of the i as attempting to use the original string results in an error informing me the string is on a blocklist.
🔚 Bort Simpson Typical. What do you expect from a bunch of white men... exactly, racism.
🐊 Andromeda Pie Smh this place would be so much better with some moderation and blocking and muting. I just wanna hang with cool peeps
🌚 Nlggers I'm Ashkenazi Jewish. I'm not white. I respectfully disagree. There may come a time where the views of people who are in control shift to a position of lesser tolerance towards the people who they perceive as their past ideological oppressors (people who were promoting typically further left views). If and when that time comes I may continue to disagree with what you have to say but I will defend until my dying breath your right to say it.
👁️ Mbladra Did the internet boards always have racists, or has that been more of a recent thing
🐊 Andromeda Pie I think they've just gotten more brave recently.
Juha Think about the human nature in general and you have an answer. We are not nice creatures
🌊 Zero Two That is a really pessimistic outlook on humanity
Juha There is a lot of good in the world. But unfortunately I deal with the other half daily, which I like to think gives me perspective.
📉 Bill Think about all of nature in general. Humans are not some godly being in some love bubble disconnected from reality. Everything is in constant competition
Juha I do not understand what you're saying. What do you mean?
🌊 Zero Two But life is not a zero sum game, cooperation benefit everyone
📉 Bill We can't ever "just get along". Everything in this world is inherently in competition to survive the next day.
👁️ Mbladra I don't think that's true at all.. I mean if you really wanted to, I guess you might be able to do some mental gymnastics to shoehorn the world into a lens of 'inherent competition', but that's pretty obviously going to be a poor explaination of a lot of largely cooperative phenomena
📉 Bill For us, cooperation can exist between groups but not between everyone since we're in a closed system of finite resources. There is inherent competition between those with resources and those without.
Juha I would argue it to be more of an "indifference" rather than direct competition for survival. The world is entropy made infinite, sure. But thats just exaggeration.
🌚 Nlggers I'm not sure about getting brave recently. I wouldn't have picked this username string if it weren't for the increased internet censorship of late. You're welcome to believe as you do and continue calling for me to be removed but I think you may come to find that the tighter you close your grip the more star systems will slip through your fingers. :^)
👁️ Mbladra wow looks like we have ourselves a badass here.. a real keyboard warrior
Rob B. Free speech is being able to say that, being responsible is not.
🌚 Nlggers I think however responsible it happens to be is a relatively subjective matter.
🤖 Razi "free hong kong" would be a much more responsible choice, for example
💡 Diff Choosing an inflammatory name--just because you can, just to push back on decreasing social tolerance of it--isn't a very "nice" thing. You don't come across as fighting against censorship, and honestly you couldn't have picked a worse example of the bad sides of "censorship" since the dynamics of normal social interactions naturally dissuade the kind of behavior you're exhibiting with your username.
⌨️ Joseph Racism isn't anything new. I'm sure there were plenty of racists in the Internet board age.
🛡️ Cyrano I'm fairly sure racists existed before the internet.
🔻 Trinity Always, always, always. Even back in the 40s IBM built the mainframe the nazis used to catalogue the jews. It's deeply nestled in computing's history, though thankfully not too embedded in modern times (at least compared to fifty years ago).
👁️ Mbladra wow that's crazy about IBM. Just went down a wikipedia rabbit hole on that. "IBM New York established a special subsidiary in Poland called Watson Business Machines to deal with railway traffic in the General Government. Edwin Black asserts that IBM did so after the Sept 1, 1939 Nazi Invasion of Poland, and continued this business relationship during the Holocaust in Poland. Watson Business Machines operated a punch card printing shop near the Warsaw Ghetto."
🏒 Lucian Marin Freedom of expression is the beauty and the beast of this century.
🐊 Andromeda Pie Freedom of expression doesn't protect racism or any other kind of bigotry. Just like freedom of action doesn't protect murder. J
Rob B. Well with a little moderation your website could have been neat, unfortunately I choose not to spend time on a place that harbours and caters to racists.
😏 Yt L. I still think it's neat. :)
