Hey @lucian, curious if you know anything about Vector Watch in Bucharest that was acquired by Fitbit? I've seen sometimes that local-language articles / interviews disclose more info about acquisitions than american press. Trying to figure out if they were bought to get a foundation of affordable devs in Romania or if they're continuing with the Vector product.

Vector Watch was cancelled from the start. The Vector hardware team was integrated with the Fitbit hardware team. Fitbit offices in Bucharest are hiring people on the cloud software and iOS/Android apps as you can see on LinkedIn. But you're right, Romanians are the most competent and affordable developers any corporation can find.

I have read some reports about Fitbit not being in a good shape financially. Their selling volume has sharply dropped (35% y.o.y) the last Q4, if I remember correctly, and they are restructuring as well. Hopefully they will survive, it would be sad, especially after having bought Pebble assets... I would like to see what they would come up with.

I did a little research the other day. They have an insane amount of cash on hand for runway, and they made 3 really smart acquisitions (pebble, coin, and a Romanian e-ink luxury watch startup). I actually bought some shares after reading up. I think they have a really good chance of delivering a unique smartwatch that can compete pretty well. At the same time the stock will probably continue to trend downwards until the watch is launched and has proven sales, which will not be fast since they are integrating those 3 acquisitions. I'll personally probably buy more shares if it's still below $6 when the new watch is announced.

Are there actual Germans when you pick up? It could also be scammers that use a VoIP service (as many do) with data centres in Germany (as many have).

They are actual Germans. They ask for some company or service. I think there's some call forwarding happening. I'm pretty sure they didn't dial a number from Romania.
