@lucian, is there a way to post to Subreply using the Shortcuts app so I don't have to open the website? I tried checking the network API, but it doesn't show anything because the page reloads.

Corner?

I just use Subreply on my phone, and the user interface is more confusing that Twitter's. Subreply could have had a chance if Lucian changed it a while back when it was brought up by several users, but Lucian liked the way it was. I am curious if Subreply could scale though. I think the ship has sailed to Mastadon instances. At this point, Subreply would have to do something that Mastadon does not deliver on, that people want.

I have. Despite all the cost and fuss (space-age pod and salty water and showers), it was just a nice quiet place to lie down for an hour. Feel free to ask me anything about it. Curious to hear if anyone had a very different experience.

I appreciate the offer. I'm not sure I really have any specific questions at this time. I first thought about them years ago, and it's just been an on-and-off curiousity since then. There is a local float center, so I supose I just need to try it at least once. I like the idea of medition, and I thought it could be used for relaxation, though I'm not sure at this point. I used to sauna for a while when I had the opportunity, and that was pretty relaxing. I guess I have a question: do you think it could be used for relaxing (any for the body besides just the mind)?

Has anyone here used a sensory deprevation chamber before?

Doubt your own reasons, no matter how true they seem. Get curious about what your other hidden explanations may be.

Your sive.rs/pg and later articles about PostgreSQL made me doubt my assumptions about memory caching. Since then I never touched Memcached or Redis. All data needs are handled inside PostgreSQL.

Good luck with that. I closed my LinkedIn account long ago. Twitter account is long neglected. Went on to better things.

I don't use them for myself, but I'm curious what they are working on. Subreply has better threading than all of them.

What's a topic you've been wanting to learn more about?

literally everything ! Maybe more focused on focusing but I'm really curious 🙂 But also I have to find some sorting/structure to store "thing I read on Internet" either it is some repo I saw on GitHub or a post linked through social media or link aggregator, because I'm often like "oh yes I read something about that !... but I cannot find the link 😭"

Was curious about blind, somewhat useful but many of the people on that app are tremendously mean. What's lost by being helpful and kind?

Is the United States more religious than Europe? My understanding is that Europe is broadly-but-casually religious whereas the US is specifically-but-actively religious, e.g. France vs the Bible Belt. Curious because I heard an argument attributing the prevalence of religion as inversely proportional to the size of a societies social safety net.

Curious what percentage of the world's knowledge of how to build advanced, commercial robotics is available within Boston Dynamics exclusively. Skydio also comes to mind as having great autonomous navigation software. Hope they generalize (and/or sell) the technology that allows them to build relatively small and nimble robots, would like to see more startups in that space.

man i personally find twitter very hard to use, in the sense that im reluctant to engage with anyone. i have a few running theories as to why that is, but its curious

Still haven't found many folks talking about zeihan's peak-consumption thesis, curious what the macro-inclined think

I was a part-time teacher in a vocational high-school (it technician) for the last one and a half year. It was a great adventure! I wish to pursue it, but sadly I don't have enough time between my other jobs/projects.

Teaching is really awesome when kids get curious about what you're showing to them

federalregister.gov is such an interesting website, but incredibly information dense. Does anyone (e.g. government employees, contractors) use it effectively and/or regularly? Curious how efficiently it can be used. For example, if I wanted to find every tax credit and subsidy for a given industry, how many searches would it take for me to enumerate them?

did any of the painters in pre-modern europe write tutorials on how to paint like them? Curious if any of that knowledge was serialized
