I revamped all things related to groups and hashtags. Hashtag is a reference to a group. You can post and reply inside a group. I need to code a way to automatically create a group when you use a new hashtag. I think the best way to describe Subreply is having Twitter and Reddit in one social network.

☕ David Antoine I was wondering, maybe use a different symbol or two hashtags for a group... Wouldn't it be better to have groups separated from simple hashtags? If anything, to use simple hashtags for a trending option based on it for example (if Subreply explodes in popularity one day, hopefully)... Not sure though, that's a stupid idea maybe...

♟️ Inverse Replica I have completely separated my "public" life from my private life, i.e. use different phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts and even hardware. Now, when the weekend starts or I am on holidays, I know that only friends and family are even able to get in touch with me and I must say, it's a completely different quality of life

🙂 Roy I don't have anything intelligent to post right now. I'm wondering what I should be post here. On one hand, I think if everyone waits for an intelligent thought, then comes and posts online, there wouldn't be too many posts on social networks. On the other hand, I think posts on social media should be meaningful and intelligent, otherwise there'd be too much useless blabber to scroll through online. I've clicked on one too many social media profiles, and after a few scrolls, decided it was a complete waste of time.

☕ David Antoine Out of curiosity, anyone on the Nostr network? Seems to get a lot of traction lately... Whether it will succeed or not is another story as always, the social network landscape is overcrowded.

🦿 Lucian Marin Social networks are so bad that I just want a service that turns podcasts into text conversations that are easy to scan, highlight, bookmark. Something like Snipd app, but web based.

😀 Tom I think that any kind of social media that does voting or automatic suppression by user flagging is terrible. It doesn't become a fair, intellectual discourse, but a competition of who can bully the other better.

👨‍💻 William Young This is something that really resonates with me. It's s paradoxical problem for someone making a social media of trying to make something that is healthy by not gamifying it, but at the same time generating a network effect by people returning frequently. A great example that has tried to find this balance is BeReal.
🐓 Mega What's interesting with BeReal is it's probably the most gamified social media, yet it's one where you essentially cannot doomscroll. It kinda baffles me that BeReal is able to find a balance that still keeps it entertaining and capable of keeping interesting content without needing constant sustained interactions from both the creator and consumer sides, but I'm definitely not upset about it. BeReal's a really interesting case that has struck all the right chords of a social media, in my opinion.
