Would you have to be a good employee, as well as talented?
👨🏻💻 Moroni
I'm thinking that you can have talent but if you don't have emotional intelligence, strong social skills, among other factors, you won't succeed.

They can do more, but they won't do as *little* as you can do. I like that you've kept it simple.

I spent six months on other social networks and I got bored. Subreply is a lot more interesting to me even if there aren't that many people here.

You're welcome. I couldn't send the email to everyone, just the latest active users.

I think I will shut down Sub this time. New social networks can do more than I can do.

I stopped working on socii.network because I came to the same conclusion. Mastodon has scratched that social media itch for me, even though the features I'd add would be more exciting.

Just read a heading on hackernews: "making social "social" again". This site here is what makes social media "social", instead of corporate, again. (But media is technically just text, so not media, but social text, at its best, I guess.)

Yes! How many times I need to explain it? Subreply is HN version of a social network.

social media, as in where you go to consume content and read people's comments and have conversations? Yes. Social network, as in where you go to hang out with friends? Nope!

I love being lectured about the price we charge for labor being too high by people who pay their illegal alien laborers below minimum wage, don't pay unemployment, medicare, social security, taxes, insurance, health care, paid sick leave, paid family leave, or workers comp. You know those things you voted for that are meant to protect those people from scalpers like you?

In 2019 I suggested to Elon Musk to build a social network together. He answered me and said he wasn't interested, but my idea definitely changed everything. This is the butterfly effect of me creating a tiny social network. Five years later I saved the entire world from collapse.

I revamped all things related to groups and hashtags. Hashtag is a reference to a group. You can post and reply inside a group. I need to code a way to automatically create a group when you use a new hashtag. I think the best way to describe Subreply is having Twitter and Reddit in one social network.

Wondering if the fragmentation of streaming services, & social media, is purely capitalism ruining things, or the internet's culture diversifying things too.
