Instead of trying to change a system that you're new to, think of how to participate within its constraints. For example, create new posts with a mention and a link to your previous post. Or start a new post, and link it as a reply.

I see your point. Perhaps a pattern will emerge eventually. But, without direct messaging, I gave up earlier on mentioning two people in threads just because I couldn't. Links make it hard to illustrate which reply am I referring to as it's hard to spot.
