HaoLi Everyone in China must be successful, and the Chinese government is success if both is the case.
Aleksandr I would not consider the example of China to be in any way indicative. It is an experiment that is still far from completion.
🏒 Lucian Marin Enshitification is the problem of every other platform except Subreply. doflo.com/blog/wha...
🐵 George it's inevitable by default, enthropy and shit. but we're loooooong way from there right now. also, there is no greater irony than reading about enshittification at the 'build your workflow with AI' company website.

Dennis be careful that no attacker can push updates
💀 Fakenane Yeah, I'll have to implement some sort of code signing functionality to make sure only I can push code :) that's a good call though! It brings up more interesting problems like how do I revoke certificates, etc
Jotalea I went through all the categories of this social media looking for the text input to post something, just to find out it was right in front of me
👽 Paul Webb Same with v3.2.1 and v3.2.14 and v3.3.0 so hopefully there's a CHANGELOG
💀 Fakenane Yeah, I guess 3.2.1->3.2.14 tells me that my application that uses this interface should continue to work. 3.2.14->3.3.0 tells me that there's major new features, and most likely my application still should continue to work. 4.0.0 would tell me that my application will no longer work. As opposed to 2025.07.22 having major changes from 2025.07.23
Alessandro What books are you reading currently?
🤔 John catching up on discworld with a linear read, just starting guards guards again. adam savage every tool's a hammer. in my fathers court about a rabbinical community "judge". asterix and obelix with my kids.
❇️ Steve Brand I make mods for a game called Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. Not here to promote them; just here to talk about the stuff I learn while researching for them. URL: github.com/Frontie... -- TL;DR: they ground an already-grounded game further in reality. I'm *that* sort of a person, yes.
👽 Paul Webb Yes please! I can't wait to use your version
🏒 Lucian Marin I also want to create a dedicated site for jobs called NetworkXP that will write to the same database. I feel inspired by Nostr, same protocol, different apps.
🏒 Lucian Marin I want to build resumes on top of Subreply profiles. You can add any kind of experiences (jobs, projects, gigs, education, courses) on your profile.
👽 Paul Webb I joined Peerlist several months ago because it seemed like a cooler LinkedIn but it's really more like ProductHunt LinkedIn. Not really a fan of it so I stopped using it. I just made a plaintext CV to accompany my LinkedIn: cv.webb.page
🙌 Nat Voisey Haha, I used the chat more like a learning exercise. Is Claude Code like a VS Code/GitHub Copilot equivalent?
👨🏻‍💻 Moroni Claude Code provides a different experience from regular chat - it automatically creates files, executes scripts, builds and tests code, all within a Git repository that commits changes as you request modifications. By the end, you have a deployment-ready project. It's not perfect and occasionally requires manual code changes, but it's very impressive.
🐵 David Path of Exile 2 is harder than I imagined. Level 19 and I haven't been able to down Act 1 last boss. Will try reallocating passives this evening, and see how it goes.
Zero Edge Modern programmers = Make super complex applications with millions of lines of code. Still use a trash IDE that forces them to use "print" to debug...
🏒 Lucian Marin It's year 5174. Brain researchers discover that neurons inside the brain work by quantum entanglement. A couple years later they develop a device that makes brain to brain communication possible. Now humans power a thinking network that's superior to AI, the quantum brain. Warriors who seek to destroy the technology move out to a nearby galaxy because communication is slowed down by the speed of light. A intergalactic war starts between AI, peaceful humans and the warriors. Peaceful humans continue to pursuit technological advancements to defend themselves from both AI and warriors.
Zero Edge Have a LLM write the script for you. :P
🦧 Simon Gray Tiktok has launched two Instagram clones sans video? Tiktok is reversing tiktokification?
🏒 Lucian Marin Considering Instagram is all about videos now, Whee is an welcome development. VSCO should have been an amazing Instagram alternative but they blew it with bad design decisions.
👽 Paul Webb Did anyone catch the WWDC keynote? Calculator on iPad is insane.
