Nkrs We're going to lose the last exam term in this school year. This assistant lied to us about changing exam dates, and then avoided replying to emails for over a week, and so we didn't know when the exam is. When the information finally came to us, it was less than an hour before the exam started. This is the last term within this school year, and the next one is in January. More importantly, this is my last exam, and after this I should get a diploma, but now I'll have to wait for over 4 months because they gave a job to this inadequate guy.
Mark Dain How can you even get away with that? Please tell me he's been fired!
Nkrs He's not from our department so I guess nothing will be done about this. Usually this sort of wrongdoing is never corrected, because students are always wrong and always lying, and the professors and assistants always do the right thing. Can't say I've seen this at my department at all, but for the few courses that we had at other departments, things are just bizarre. I was failed on purpose on the analytical chemistry exam 10 times, where they would just give marks to the top 4-5 tests, and then toss the rest into trash; then they'd write that only those who passed showed up for the exam, so they would have 100% pass rate.
😀 Tom That's messed up. Are there any recourses you could take? If what you said in the original post happened in the US, chances are a call from a lawyer to university would get you your diploma. Here, the syllabus is essentially a contract, so if the university doesn't follow it, students have legal recourse.
Nkrs There's an attempt to fix this situation for everyone by having them organize an additional term for this exam. Chances are good that we'll get it.
