Mark Dain Didn't get a loan, I ended up getting a credit card so I'll be buying tickets to Texas very soon. I'm finally going to visit!
😀 Tom Texas!?!?!? :-)

Mark Dain So you didn't watch my periscope (I did mention this). Anyway, I'm sure I've mentioned it before? If not, I'm planning to visit some cities for 2 weeks and the country side (specifically a ranch) for a week. The plans aren't concrete but I think I have dates now fixed; it's in October

😀 Tom No, I haven't checked out the periscope website yet, sorry. Having grown up in Texas, I can say it's an awesome place. I hope you have a good time there.

Mark Dain Finally someone positive! Nearly all of my friends react with "omg don't go you'll get shot". I almost lost a friendship over that actually. I have no patience for people telling me what to do based on stereotypes. So current plan is Dallas, Amarillo and possibly Austin, although that may be swapped out for NY or CA. Whereabouts did you grow up?

😀 Tom Sorry I missed your question earlier. I grew up in Houston. I'll actually be visiting Houston and Austin in October for my brother's wedding. I may be swinging by Oakland, California on my way though. Are you going to a "dude" ranch? What are your goals for your visit? If you want to go to a shooting range to taste a little freedom, or if you just want to grab a beer, we might be able to meet up.

Mark Dain Nice! I'm visiting in October for the State Fair, so yeah meeting up might be possible! Yeah, it's a dude ranch, should be loads of fun and they host Cowboy Action Shooting, hunting and some others so I'll get plenty of experience with guns while I'm visiting. Honestly, my goals are the fact I've lived here (England) for 21 years yet I don't feel like I'm at home. For some reason I can't quite explain I just fell in love with America years ago and now I'm visiting to see if I can actually live out there (so it's not strictly a holiday, more of an evaluation if I can move there). But why Texas? Well, it's the America of America ;)
