I tried out the new MacBook at the Apple store, it's a bit disappointing to be honest. Yes it's super light and thin but the keyboard is a bit disappointing -- it's so thin the typing is less comfortable than the MacBook Air

I just wish Apple would get over their thinness fixation. I don't mind the "first generation" issues with the new MacBook, but something like the keyboard isn't going to change without more room to move. When thinness starts to hurt usability, it is going too far.

Totally. I'm guessing it's just physically impossible to maintain good keyboard feeling while making it as thin as possible. In the end, nothing beats the joy of a mechanical keyboard.

I don't think it's even the thinness of the keys but the "butterfly switch" thing they use. They? Made it because it's thinner than the old scissor switch that's used in existing MacBooks. I find it uncomfortable to type on.
