So apparently my credit card was still hooked up to my inactive App.net account which was renewed just now. I did send out a mail to get a refund or something, but it seems all the staffers have gone silent for over a year... :(

Well I don't - but apparently still some use it as a social network, online storage, etc, etc.

You might be able to cancel the payment with your credit card company if they do not respond. Although to be fair, if they are still charging cards they should have someone on staff for the (economic) administration...
