I don't suppose anybody here knows if Chrome for iOS uses V8/Apple's Nitro? I prefer Chrome to Safari but not if it's significantly slower.

AFAIK Chrome on iOS uses Apple's build-in rendering engine for apps (UIWebView). I seem to recall this is different from (and worse than) Safari on iOS, even. Apple doesn't allow other rendering engines.
