Dave Walk It's seems like every .com domain name is taken so moving on to other TLDs. Wonder if .ly or .io is less confusing to the general public.

Eric Be careful when buying. A lot of country code TLDs don't allow WhoIs privacy.

Simon Janes Depending on your context, a .bit domain ( bit.namecoin.info/... ) may be useful for preventing trade-name hijacking between nation-states. But this is definitely not something that's universally easy for users. Special interest groups only, not general purpose name resolution.
