🤔 John I've been super happy with my iPhone SE after moving from android this spring, and I'm considering treating myself to a MacBook for Christmas. I would love to hear opinions from the Sublevel community. I understand that performance per $ is lower than mid-level windows laptops, but I'm wondering if longevity and productivity make up for it?
John Olinda I regularly use Windows, Linux, BSD, and macOS on various hardware. Regarding productivity: unless you're already using macOS-only or Windows-only software, you can probably work on almost anything. Regarding longevity: I'd recommend Thinkpads or other perhaps Dell business models for Linux or Windows use or a Mac that doesn't have the new keyboard. I shy away from buying new hardware though since I don't do extremely demanding work like video-editing.
