Yeah I'm a big fan of all things American. Hoping to move there some day actually. That line is a bit of a joke on the trouble I have getting along with people here - almost every Brit I meet hates Americans[1] and my increasingly thick accent on means most people these days think I'm an expat - which I love, but I don't like being treated differently. Also probably doesn't help I can often be found walking around in cowboy boots too. ([1] British people won't admit it to your face though because they want to look polite. When I don't look/sound American and when they're relaxed though, the hate comes out and it's real)

I am American who wants to be British. Maybe we can trade places.

Oh if only... I've been asked that on Reddit before. Sadly it's not possible to trade places :( Perhaps you'll meet more understanding/tolerant Brits in London or Brighton. I live and work in a small town, so perhaps that's part of my problem.

Well, if y'all both had some facial reconstruction surgery, and found a way to alter y'alls fingerprints, why not?

There are much easier ways of gaining citizenship, but you're on your own to figure them out.

If only I could figure out how to get citizenship. Maybe me and @kodo could marry and swap citizenship that way?

If you marry enough people, you can catch 'em all! Some are easier to obtain than get rid of, and the other way around, so be careful! E.g. you cannot renounce Moroccan citizenship, but Dutch citizenship is taken away when you apply for any other citizenship (one reason I did not apply for Swedish citizenship).
