Mark Dain Almost all Macs are listed as "Don't Buy" as they're expecting updates soon: buyersguide.macrum... . I have both an old MacBook Air and the most recent MacBook Pro Retina, they are quality machines. Other than the lack of Ethernet, I've never had an issue with either machine. There's a rumor going around that Apple is asking if customers use the headphone port on their laptops but I've never been asked, so I don't know. I'd say wait and see, you might be able to pickup a fairly new MacBook Pro for cheap if Apple really does water down the newest model.
