Nkrs Found mistakes in a PDF I was reading for my paper, but it's just that symbols in equations got eaten by whichever print-to-PDF program was used when the original document was saved to PDF from Word 2007. Welp.

🍊 Lucian Marin You should find a PostScript program and look at the PDF source. I bet there are still traces of the equation. Perhaps it can't be rendered correctly.

Nkrs Equations are OLE objects in Word, with very good integration. It appears that they get rasterized into images when they're printed to PDF, unlike TeX which stores them as text, so no luck getting them out.
