Daniel Holmes I recently heard a Paul Washer sermon the other day, talking about the role of Deacons and Elders, but more specifically Elders. He spoke to the danger of teaching and how if the fear of God isn't upon you when you're speaking then you need to go and repent. Furthermore he said that just as a husband should be willing to lay down his life for his wife and his children, so the responsibility for an elder is. You must lay down your life, because you are not given authority for authority's sake... you're given the authority to serve.

Diva I finished an audio book and had two watercolour painting sessions. It's therefore been a very good weekend! How was your weekend?
Burensasub That sounds awesome! The highlight of my weekend so far was the Zoom chat with my friends from college/university. Also, my husband's home cooking!

Martijn Just started on Gentleman Jack. Seen 3 episodes. Not sure I like it yet, so may drop it.
Burensasub My husband and I watched Gentleman Jack but stopped watching it right before the end of the first season/series. It started out strong but tried taking on too many side plots.

Diva My vitamin D levels are low, according to my doctor; but surely this is understandable given I have been mostly stuck inside my house since mid-March, shielding with my parents because of the lockdown?!
Burensasub My husband keeps telling me I need to go outside more to get more sun and therefore vitamin D. I thought perhaps he worried too much but perhaps I should take his advice more seriously

Diva As Mondays go, this one was not too awful. Quite productive, but still lots to do. How was your day?
Burensasub It was ok. Woke up to my cat stalking a mouse. I'm the end, my husband trapped it in a plastic container and released it somewhere outside.

Bas Poppink Family Christmas at my parents' without my sister and her husband (they're abroad). Boxing day at home, and the day after a large family dinner at my parents-in-law. Pretty traditional I guess.
