☕ David Antoine Final Fantasy was impressive at that time, indeed. I think they already use ray tracing for all of their CGI, it's just that rendering is awfully long, hence big post prod times. Next step would be real time ray tracing or at least faster rendering techniques or tricks. Probably also using AI/machine learning and procedural workflows for assets and level design... There was an interesting presentation on that subject during the last Blender conference...
