That article isn't very clear. I think it suggested we use faces as unique identifiers. What happens when someone shaves/grows a beard, loses/gains weight, has surgery, or has a disfiguring accident? I've fooled facial recognition before. Not duplicating information across different databases also sounds ideal, but then instead of trusting one's version and access to that information, we have to trust someone else instead. Also, one would have to let others access the data that they paid to collect, for free. I don't know if companies would ever give that up. Also, the article is wrong. Many people only have one-part names.
