Eric Office 2003 has OCR built in.. who knew? I wish I did 24 months ago ffs.

Eric If you've a PDF which contains text as an image (non-OCR scanners do this) then it will convert the file to TIFF format and then read the text off into a word document as plain-text. You'll lose all the formatting an it's not 100% reliable but it is a life saver. I dodged 3 hours of typing up a printed spreadsheet using the trick. The path: [Start]>MS Office>MS Office Tools>"Microsoft Office Document Imaging" (this is 2003 edition)
