🍺 Paul I guess it's that time of the season again where I come up with silly projects for myself while looking for a new job.

hautacam I've started emulator development. Wrote a CHIP-8 emulator in JavaScript (or rather an interpreter) and will tackle an Intel 8080 emulator in C next.
🍺 Paul Well, mine is a little bit less ambitious that this. In the spirit of the time, I'm going to make a YAML-based CV generator :). The idea is to output HTML, fancy text via cURL and optionally PDF.
hautacam Any plans of open sourcing it? Sounds like something that could be useful for me!
🍺 Paul That's the plan :)
👽 Paul Webb Hear hear! I just updated chronver.org and its module. This job market is tough so my search became passive.
💀 Fakenane That's an interesting trade off: deciding whether to be able to compare release dates versus feature drift in version numbers. I guess release dates is more concrete, but it's hard to tell if version 2025.07.22 is that different from 2025.07.15
👽 Paul Webb Same with v3.2.1 and v3.2.14 and v3.3.0 so hopefully there's a CHANGELOG
💀 Fakenane Yeah, I guess 3.2.1->3.2.14 tells me that my application that uses this interface should continue to work. 3.2.14->3.3.0 tells me that there's major new features, and most likely my application still should continue to work. 4.0.0 would tell me that my application will no longer work. As opposed to 2025.07.22 having major changes from 2025.07.23
🏒 Lucian Marin I'm in the same boat. I made Subreply open source while looking for a new job. I gave myself more work to do.
🤷 Tom Hyndman get to work, we need features! Do you have any JS SPA experience?
🏒 Lucian Marin We need an API before JS SPA. I tried to vibe code something with Gemini CLI (github.com/lucianm...). Having the API ready for iOS and Android apps is a priority.
🤷 Tom Hyndman no, I meant if you're looking for a job, what lind of role are you looking for
