Nkrs Feels like all of the needless junk we shaved off from pages with XHTML-HTML5 transition is slowly coming back in shape of dozens of meta tags and resource links.
Simon Janes I think we perhaps need to abandon HTML, JS and CSS and begin with a clean-slate.
Nkrs You're a Scheme guy; I think we can agree that something Scheme-based would be very much superior to these phonies ("XML is just S-expressions with angle brackets", "JavaScript is a Lisp because it has function literals and map/filter/reduce").
Simon Janes (define (make-article title content) `((type article) (title ,title) (content ,content)))
Nkrs Macros instead of templates, S-expressions instead of JSON and XML. No need for DOM--it is all just data. No need for XSLT--map and filter are natively supported.

Simon Janes Sounds good. map everything through LZ4 en.wikipedia.org/w...) . I like LZ4 because it's stupid-fast and I don't like having to wait to access my data. The compression isn't phenominal, but imagine how much faster installing a Linux distro would be if it used that instead. When I backup, nuke and restore my systems for a distro-change, I'm using tar.lz4--it just takes less time.
