Mark Dain Ok this is bullshit. Apple seems to have pulled the ability to install any program on your Mac. Now only App Store and Identified Developers are allowed: macrumors.com/2016...

Martijn Sounds like right-click-open will still work. To be fair, that way is fairly secure because you can't just say "everything is good" and have to consciously decide to trust an application.

Mark Dain Ah, ok! Yeah I have "Mac App Store and Identified Developers" and use the Control-click whitelist method. Good to know they haven't removed that but I can't shake the "how long until they do" feeling. I watched the State of the Union keynote, they never mentioned this. I wish I could hear Apple's reasoning. They had a keynote on security where they talked about ATS which was good so I could understand their idea behind it.

Asko P. Soon: OS X is the new Linux. Nobody makes apps for Linux. (obviously the Nobody is an overstatement, but I hope you get my point).

Mark Dain I'm all for apps being signed and I like Apple pushing people in that direction but this literally prevents half the programs on my computer from running. You can't fuck people over like this. Wtf is this. This is bad, even by Apple's standards. I happen to do more than just browse Facebook on my computer.
