Nkrs Looks like Ubuntu on Windows is real after all. Maybe 2016 will finally be the long-awaited year of Linux on the Desktop, except the desktop is neither GNOME or KDE, but Windows. (blogs.msdn.microso...)
🏒 Lucian Marin It seems Microsoft tries to make Windows the best Linux environment distribution without the kernel. I wonder what Linus Torvalds thinks about it.
Nkrs Probably the same thing he thinks about Cygwin and MinGW, both of which are projects that provide ports of these same tools on Windows. Microsoft is odd here because they also use the kernel.
