Martijn After @lucian's comments (sublevel.net/re/16122) I spent some time getting mpv.io to work. (mpv is a modern MPlayer fork.) It is pretty great for playing YouTube and Twitch videos in a local media player. I hope this will save some more battery vs. in-browser play. Especially with Safari having problems getting Twitch to work at all.

🦿 Lucian Marin mpv works better than mplayer! Energy impact is 45, very close to QuickTime. Thanks mentioning this! It seems a combination between mpv and QuickTime with Makava service covers all my needs.
