Martijn Wow Apple. That was the worst move ever. It looks like you will now need to pay 99 USD / yearly to create Safari extensions. That is insane.
🦿 Lucian Marin They are bringing Safari extensions to iOS. developer.apple.co... Safari extensions will probably be part of the App Store which has some maintenance costs. Anyway, $99 for everything is a good deal.

Martijn If Apple wants to distribute only signed extensions, that's great! Google has verified authors and Mozilla is going to enforce a signing policy too. But what Apple is currently doing is making you pay 99 USD to load a JavaScript file into your browser. Safari does not allow you to run any code as an extension unless you have a certificate, which is now put behind a paywall. I can freely download Xcode and start on an app, but I have to pay 99 USD before I can even test an extension in Safari!
