Martijn I have had cardboard for a while now, but it is easy to forget to check if your phone actually works. Some cheaper Android phones have simulated gyroscopes (like my Moto G) that will trip up the Google Cardboard app. Your phone (like my Moto G) might also have its magnet "receiver" somewhere else which means the side "button" on the cardboard will not function. If you are interested in it, make sure to check if your phone actually supports all the small thins that are necessary for VR.
