Marlow The Europa League is a trophy. 4th is not a trophy. You can outspend the second tier of European clubs. You cannot outspend the first tier of English football. You can outspend Sevilla, Brugge, Napoli, Fiorentina, Kiev, Zenit and Wolfsburg. You cannot outspend City, Chelsea, United and Arsenal. If you can't beat Brugge and co. you won't beat Chelsea and Arsenal and the Champions League is just not for you.

Marlow The anti-Europa League argument is that it's too long (6 matches in group, 8 in knockout, 1 final) for the prize (Champions League admission.) It's so much easier to play 38 league games against City/United/Arsenal/Chelsea twice than 15 games which you could lose half. And there's only one ticket to the CL at the end. How many tickets for fourth do you think are there in the Premier League? Answer: One.
