Martijn RSS.app is platform dependent. Push Notifications are a W3C draft and currently being rolled out for Firefox and Chrome, cross platform, and even to Chrome for Android. The latter meaning that if you (like me) use "Add to Home Screen" to simulate a Sublevel application on Android you will get notifications for free.
