💻 Kernel Almost completed my sign up for tilde.town and then accidentally went back one page, deleting all my answers.
⌨️ Joseph I applied here and at tilde.club after reading this. Both seem like such cool little corners of the Internet.

🔻 Trinity Anyone know how to parse RSS in C? I know I can use curl to download the XML file but after that I don't know. Looking to rewrite github.com/devenbl... just to learn the language.
⌨️ Joseph Learning C sounds fun, what prompted you to learn the language?

Burensasub Welcome back! I still have my 1st gen iPhone SE which I hope to keep at least for another year. After that, the 2020 iPhone SE might be my next phone as well
⌨️ Joseph That is the phone I had before! It was starting to act up though, so I decided to treat myself with an upgrade :)

⌨️ Joseph Haven't been floating around here lately. Still have my job thankfully :) Also ended up splurging a little bit and buying myself a new phone. Ended up getting an iPhone SE 2020. Super nice so far. Very snappy.

🧐 Nrmn I make drip coffee by hand with either a Chemex or Kalita Wave. That means I get speciality coffee beans, grind them myself, heat filtered water to ~90degC, rinse the filter and then slowly pour the water over the ground coffee. First letting it bloom for 30s, then going up to a 15x the water on grams that I used coffee in slow spiral movements. Best coffee ever.
⌨️ Joseph Is it better than a french press? I've thought about getting a drip coffee maker.

🚴 Aditya What's your coffee making technique?
⌨️ Joseph Anything that uses a french press is super good. :)

Miso Absolutely thrilled of my new thinkpad. It's a big P53. Linux noob but I went with fedora. It's very slick right now. The transition from macos isn't so bad! Any tips?
⌨️ Joseph If you are using Gnome desktop (which is the default btw if you haven't changed it), you should download Gnome Tweaks in the Software App. You can tweak all sorts of options in there. Also, nice laptop! That looks like quite a nice machine.

🌊 Zero Two I need a place to put down my thoughts. I am currently keeping track of a calendar, todo app, and a trello all at the same time.
⌨️ Joseph I just use a huge ass text file.

Miso Favorite text editor?
⌨️ Joseph Anything with vim bindings. I've been a fan of Doom Emacs lately. Neovim is pretty neat as well.

⌨️ Joseph My company started cutting folks yesterday due to lack of funds. COVID is hitting us pretty hard. (My company writes software for hotels.)
🚴 Aditya I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things work out for you and your colleagues :\
Burensasub I'm sorry to hear :-( So many people are being affected. Scary
Diva Oh no! So sorry to hear this.

⌨️ Joseph Getting back into Age of Empires 2 here lately. Crazy how well this game held up over the years. I think it has a growing playerbase right now? Not sure.

😏 Yt L. One thing I found frustrating with AOE2 was managing the civilization as it got bigger. I'd be trying to manage resources or big armies while little forces kept raiding me. Is there an "archon" mode where multiple control the same civ?

David Satime-Wallin It's really great that the top tech companies are finally getting eyes on them. It will probably lead to nothing but more people will understand the threats they pose.
⌨️ Joseph Agreed. People in the software dev industry already understand how much power these guys have. It's great that this is brought to the public's attention.
