I really doubt we will have people on the moon by 2024, as is the current plan. And that's if they don't end up canceling the Artemis program due to coronavirus related budget cuts.
Guy is crazy, so I believe him: Elon Musk(2019): "Well, this is gonna sound pretty crazy, but I think we could land on the moon in less than two years. Certainly with an uncrewed vehicle I believe we could land on the moon in two years. So then maybe within a year or two of that we could be sending crew. I would say four years at the outside."..."If it were to take longer to convince NASA and the authorities that we can do it versus just doing it, then we might just do it."
Where I am, it's hot all year around. 25 on average now. Maybe 35 on peak summer days. Recite, Brazil.
How hot does it get where you live during the summer? We had a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius today, and let me tell you, we're just not used to that kind of heat here in London, UK!
Usually we have a high of 27, with a couple of days over 30. I'm near Vancouver, Canada.
Did anyone see e.gg/about ? Seems pretty interesting, although I'm a little sketched out by the connection to FB. I'm a fan of the 90's nostalgia aspect, but hard to really dive in if it's owned by FB...
Man, I forgot we used to have GuestBooks on every page in the early 90s.... haha
My vitamin D levels are low, according to my doctor; but surely this is understandable given I have been mostly stuck inside my house since mid-March, shielding with my parents because of the lockdown?!
You need social distance from other people, not from the Sun. Get out and play! :)
That's pretty much the approach that I've taken. I don't know of I'll ever be 100% vegetarian. I'm glad to see other people reaching the same conclusion as I. Also, I am excited about the mainstream adoption of Impossible and Beyond replacement meat brands.
They are processed food anyway and they are not healthier than red meat. I'm adding more fresh vegetables to my meals, but I'm staying away from those plant based meats. :)
This is a question that a colleague asked me a couple years ago, and it just keeps coming back to me. If one becomes informed about the damage that our meat consumption is causing on the planet, does it become immoral for one to consume meat? Say, if you watch a couple documentaries on Netflix and continue consuming meat, does that make you a bad person? I don't really have an answer. I think about it every time I eat a burger.
I still have to be convinced by one of those documentaries. Every time I watch one, I do some fact checking after, and I always find something pointing out that the documentary is not scientifically correct, is opinionated, is using wrong numbers, has an agenda...
Applying for permanent residency tomorrow. Wish me luck.
May I ask to which country? I'm a permanent resident myself.
No matter what you believe either something always existed or something was made from nothing.. Our minds cannot comprehend this... to deny that there is "more" to this existence than purely physical is more "scientific" than a random event of chaos creating everything. Not to mention what created the laws of the universe? Believing in a creator is not a "leap". Believing that all was created through an act of "random" is.
Strangely, it's so much easier to believe in randomness. Or to no care at all. I struggle with that since my teenage years.
You're right. Is there any server/channel for people coming from subreply?
Not that I'm aware of. Subreply and IRC serves different purposes, so I don't think there is a channel anywhere.
Is this not true of all job interviews though? They all test how well you can practice and rehearse a set of questions.
Here in Canada, Certified Dental Assistants usually are required a one day of work to assess their skills. At the end of the day, they are paid for their work and they might receive a job offer or not. I guess there are other professionals that go through the same process.
Another serialization format appears amzn.github.io/ion...
The .NET implementation is really bare bones. Unless someone creates a wrapper around it, it will never get traction. But the format itself has some really interesting features. I wish I had the motivation to create that wrapper myself... :)
Click on the timestamp. :)
That's it! I would never discover it by myself. Thx!
What music/songs have you been listening to lately?
I recently discovered this DJ on Spotify called Jauz. I love his music, but it's not for everyone. open.spotify.com/p...
