John Olinda If you have a laptop that's being suspended all the time, what's the best way to maintain presence on IRC?

Martijn Setting up a bouncer is probably the only way. Is there any particular reason you need to maintain the connection?

John Olinda I like to know what happened while I was away, plus I am setting up a room for my technology course and don't want to have to recover permissions all the time. Shout seems like an ideal solution, but is proving to be a bear to set up on my VPS.
