Mark Dain Who else is being driven slowly mad by /r/TheButton?
Martijn I didn't know about /r/TheButton yet, but I am guessing I might become obsessed over it soon. Is it cheatable?

Mark Dain There's no cheating, the server only allows 1 click and it can't be revoked. If you want to go mad, watch this: jamesrom.github.io

Martijn What happens if two people click simultaneous then? I am hoping they have some sort of error correction there. Not the mention JavaScript timers in the browser don't always take 1 seconds as 1 actual second. (Run a JS based clock long enough and it will start to differ from your computer clock.)

Mark Dain If you hover over one of the clicks, it sometimes says "Clicks: 2" which happens a lot of numbers like "10s". There's also treyp.github.io/th... if you want more data (especially distribution)

Martijn See and that's when I start thinking about exploitability. Since clicks may land simultaneously. If you can figure out the margin of error uses behind the scenes you can scrape some extra seconds off of your click However I do not have the time (or Reddit accounts) to start trial-and-error research on that. Neither do I care enough.
