🦿 Lucian Marin It's strange how in this day and age no operating system can play all the video files without installing a third party application. I won't blame your family, but the monopolistic software vendors and patent holders.

Eric Spot on, it's always refreshing when a media player can (unexpectedly) play pretty much anything. The app I use for chromecasting local video files hasn't thrown its toys out the pram over anything yet, even the more obscure formats. External-file subtitle support is something every media player should strive for.

Mark Dain Apparently Windows 10 can play MKV natively so perhaps we're getting closer to this
