Dave Walk I had an idea once of an app that was fully customizable and "hackable" - people could create their own personalized world that made their experience unique. I guess it would be a social network b/c I don't know what else could get enough people to congregate around. It's funny because this is basically what Myspace was - although maybe it was too early or it just leads people to create ugly, slow pages.

🦿 Lucian Marin If you have time for it, I say you should give it a try. You can always impose some limitation to not end up like MySpace. Or you can have designers and developers build the parts and sell them.

Martijn Sounds more like the old MSN Groups almost. It was great because it called for the creation of communities rather than MySpace's one-page-per-person.

Martijn Still hasn't really happened yet. Facebook has not deflated in any way. Guess that is as much as such a 'marketing consultant for major startups' can predict, not a lot.

🦿 Lucian Marin Facebook didn't grow either. Ello had a big wave that nobody could predict. One thing is for sure: some people are tired of Facebook, others don't want to try something else. Facebook is the Atlantic Ocean of the Internet. There's still room to create the Pacific Ocean in the years to come.
