I'm not sure how helpful is a lightweight desktop environment. If your run GTK apps, you need to have GTK installed and a good chunk of Gnome system. If you run Mono based apps, you need all libraries that come with having Mono installed.

My primary concern isn't lightness in storage space, but light RAM and CPU usage on average. GNOME crippled my small notebook almost all the time, whereas LXQT and XFCE don't.
