Martijn Repackaging MKV as MP4. I once wanted to be part of the frontier and ripped content to MKV format, today my TV still doesn't understand it. Is there any hardware media player that speaks MKV?
Eric VideoStream for Chromecast (chrome.google.com/...) has worked flawlessly with every video format I've thrown at it so far, even the peculiar kind some torrents throw up AND with external subtitle files (which is great for my 1 language brain). I can't absolutely confirm MKV will work but I'm pretty sure that it would and has for me. Of course, you do need a Chromecast to work the magic.

Martijn I have been thinking of getting a Chromecast. The HDMI cable through the living room is really annoying, not the mention the extra adapters you need to actually hook it to a MacBook.

Eric I've had once since it was released, excellent purchase, no buyers remorse whatsoever (usually I'm racked with it after a tech purchase). I use my Chromecast more than actual TV.
