Eric gregfallis.com/201... "With Fearless Girl is a bronze plaque that reads: Know the power of women in leadership. SHE makes a difference. It's not referring to the girl; it's referring to the NASDAQ symbol. It's not a work of guerrilla art; it's an extremely clever advertising. I love the little statue of the girl in the Peter Pan pose. And I resent that she's a marketing tool. I love that she actually IS inspiring to young women and girls. And I resent that she's a fraud. I love that she exists. And I resent the reasons she was created."

☕ David Antoine Interesting article, didn't know about the real meaning of the bull, just like the majority of people I guess. That's probably why they have done it that way, using the "clean slate" of people ignorance about the statues to attach or induce the meaning they wanted to the little girl and by opposition to the bull, in regards to the actual social context. Women against patriarchy more so than citizens against corporate finance. We can probably look at that marketing move in different ways. Like, why not, a future greedy girl against the American people... Good marketing indeed.

Anishcharith Well, someone could make a statue of a Bear and this bull facing opposite to where it is facing now (guarding the girl), against the bear. Everything would then make a better sense with the girl having her trust on the bull against the bear. But then the SHE wouldn't really have much significance, it might as well be a boy.

Eric Haha, nice idea but I think by that point it would be too crowded and look a little ridiculous.

Mark Dain I don't like how that statue is there just because of Charging Bull, which is a work of art

Eric If I was the artist of the Bull I'd remove it.
