Just yesterday I was working on a niche system, trying to debug a piece of code running on said system: I wish I had a debugger handy. The reality is sometimes you simply don't have one available, and the only alternative is adding printf's, recompile, flash/run... it gets tiring but that's the way it is!

Been there a few times.. I am just so spoiled by my debugger I shiver thinking of coding a big project without it. I am sure this is very language dependent.

This thread on hackernews has me completely baffled: news.ycombinator.c... . I cannot imagine debugging without a debugger. People in the thread act like step debugging you simply step through the entire code and don't simply place breakpoints at the places you want to look. I am so confused... I mean I use print every once in a while but I cannot imagine the kind time I would waste not using a proper debugger. Maybe I am just spoiled using Visual Studio and other modern ide's suck? You're telling me you print an entire hash table to inspect a few elements for improper data??

I never used a debugger. A function or class should fit in my head otherwise it should become another function or class.

I completely missed the new episodes of Samurai Jack. I remember watching the series when I was a lot younger and being disappointed when I found out that they stopped the series without a proper ending. Apparently, the 10 episodes coming out now are the final ones. I really hope it ends up well, without it being spoiled by new trends as many older cartoons do; the visual aesthetic is why I watched it in the first place.

YouTube has spoiled me. Whenever a film on Netflix has a dull moment, I want to switch to 2 speed.

I hate those videos. There might be something to be said for ones that are stress-testing devices for consumer awareness, but just destroying them for the fun of it is insane. Well, not insane, but I have a hard time relating to someone who thinks that's a beneficial use of money. Evidently there are plenty of people who disagree.
