🦿 Lucian Marin Facebook looks like Microsoft Encarta which Wikipedia eventually killed. So, maybe an open-source project can kill Facebook too. Wikipedia isn't decentralized and it's a lot more text based than Encarta used to be.
☕ David Antoine Is it even possible to kill Facebook? That thing is now a big database about maybe three billion people if you count shadow profiles. Too much of a gold mine in that regard to let it disappear but who knows... I rather see it change hands or even merge with another giant...

🦿 Lucian Marin Yes, it is. Look how scared they are about Snapchat: live stories in all their products. It's not about past content, but the future content... and ad money.

☕ David Antoine Hum, good point, I forgot about Snapchat. I'm also curious too see what they are going to do with WhatsApp. They spent something like $21bn on that thing and it's still devoid of ad revenue... Except it is again a big database of 1.2 billion people, not all of them having a Facebook account I guess. I can see it merged with Messenger at one point...
