☕ David Antoine Apparently, the reason for limiting the new MacBook Pro 2016 to a maximum of 16 GB of RAM is because the Skylake architecture does not support low power DDR4 and that would draw to much from the battery, especially considering that it is much smaller than before on the new MP Pro... 9to5mac.com/2016/1... So, they kept LPDDR3 for power consumption reasons instead of using desktop grade DDR4 to allow 32 GB of RAM... Makes sense ? Or is it a obsolescence move from Apple ?

🦿 Lucian Marin macOS has memory compression. MacBooks Pro comes with very fast SSDs that can rival slow RAM from 10-15 years ago. Fast disk pagination along with memory compression on top of 16 GB of RAM is more than good for a power efficient laptop.

Good point, I didn't think about that, I'm still using an old MacBook Pro 2008 with 2GB of RAM (yes I know...) and a 200 GB 5400 RPM hard drive (swap file love !)... It would be an understand to say I'm used to excessive slow performance with El Capitan ! I know I should upgrade RAM and HDD ; around 100 euros for a Samsung SSD 750/250 GB and 4 GB of DDR2 RAM. It should run better but I'm still not decided. Or maybe downgrade to an older OS X...
