Eric Does SL still have a DM system or is that gone?
Martijn I believe is was removed because nobody was using it.

Mark Dain Let's remove the fire extinguisher; nobody uses it ever. DM's are useful for when you need to send someone a private message like a phone number or email address. Then again, Lucian also removed the HSTS header despite that being useful in ways people don't understand.

Martijn I am happy to say my Sublevel profile links to a page that will give people both my phone number and my email address

Mark Dain Unfortunately not everyone is comfortable giving out contact information over the web. I have 's phone number because we exchanged that over a private message back when that was still possible to do (I seem to remember it being removed twice now?)

Mark Dain Yeah, Sublevel used to have private (user to user) messaging ages back. Unfortunately Lucian (the guy who runs the site) frequently culls Sublevel of anything that's perceived as bloat; like a feature that is rarely used. I actually think DM's being rarely used is a good thing; public discourse, where appropriate, is good as it can involve more people. As for the phone number thing, basically moved to a city near me so we actually met up in person once.

Bjd2385 Oh I see. I think that's a good thing in a way though. I was interested in Reddit for a while because it seemed pretty lightweight, but I didn't really get it.
